Please meditate upon come prepared to discuss the scriptures listed below

The meeting will be set to start at 9:00 AM and should be finished by 3:30 PM.  Please feel free to bring any sort of snacks or drinks you think others would enjoy.  Coffee will be furnished starting around 8:20 AM.

Plan on eating at one of the local restaurants or bring your own.

If you have them, bring your purple manuals, crosses, a pen, and of course your Bible.

We will be following the Agenda listed in the Manual for the first team meeting and the scripture will be

John 13:34-35 (JNT)
 

34 “I am giving you a new command: that you keep on loving each other. In the same way that I have loved you, you are also to keep on loving each other. 35 Everyone will know that you are my talmidim by the fact that you have love for each other.”[1]

  The morning general theme will be Vulnerability

 

In the afternoon the scripture will be:

 Matthew 20:26-28 (JNT):
 

26 Among you, it must not be like that. On the contrary, whoever among you wants to be a leader must become your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave! 28 For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve—and to give his life as a ransom for many.”[1]

0:00             Open with singing.

 

0:10 hr. St. Francis' Prayer, Page 328                      

 

0:15 hr. The team is invited to share the impact of the preparation scripture they've been reflecting upon each day.

0:30 hr. Introductions of anyone not introduced at the first meeting. 0:40 hr. Rector gives brief talk on LISTENING (page 133).

 

Team breaks into groups of 3 for a LISTENING WORKSHOP. (Then Break)

2:00 hr. Rector passes out Agape guidelines and goes over them briefly, reminding team that in Kairos no Agape letters are written to team members and that each team member is expected to write a letter to each resident. Special explanation should be made of food and green Agape.

 

Agape chairperson solicits Agape from reunion groups and denominational churches represented by team. Requests are made for expressions of agape in the form of posters, letters, banners, food and green Agape. Emphasis is placed on our need for prayer from all.

2:20 hr. Announcements:

 

2:25 hr, The observing rector will then distribute envelopes to each member containing:

a.         Team assignment list, including talks & meditations

b.         Instructions for those giving talks to read Talk Outlines. Everyone should read On Giving Kairos Talks (found in the Appendix) as these instructions apply to everyone communicating with the residents.

c.         Copies of Talk Critique sheet to all speakers and eritIquers. Discussion of assignments. See job descriptions in THE TEAM. Servants meet with head servant. Table workers meet together. Musicians meet with advising and observing rectors. The rector meets with table workers.

 

Remind speakers that the talks will be summarized each evening. Suggest that they read those summaries in the manual and be certain their talks agree with what will be said about them.
