Recommended story:

In the early days of Kairos, near the close of a 2-Day Residents' Retreat, a retreatant asked to speak to the community. He was a strong, negative leader. After looking every other resident in the eye, he said, 'You know, guys, there were 180 men on the call-out sheet for this retreat, but there are only 140 of us here. Do you know why the other 40 aren't here? Because we didn't love them enough for them to want to be here." He then proceeded to name men who were not there because he hadn't loved them enough, and after each example he listed, he said, "... and I dropped him [or "them"] at the very moment they needed my love the most." It was a powerful confession of a lack of spiritual courage.

In the afternoon the scripture will be:

Mark 12:41-43 (JNT)

41 Then Yeshua sat down opposite the Temple treasury and watched the crowd as they put money into the offering-boxes. Many rich people put in large sums, 42 but a poor widow came and put in two small coins. 43 He called his talmidim to him and said to them, “Yes! I tell you, this poor widow has put more in the offering-box than all the others making donations.[1]
